The Sussex & Surrey Associations of Local Councils (SSALC) represents the interests of its 307 member Local Councils across East and West Sussex and Surrey. Surrey and Sussex ALCs are affiliated to the National Association of Local Councils (NALC).

Surrey Countryside and Rural Enterprise Conference: ‘Shaping the Future of Rural Surrey’

Thursday 26 March 2015, 9am-4pm

HG Wells Conference Centre, Woking

Inspirational speakers will explore the challenges for our rural communities and showcase successful initiatives supporting rural enterprise; including visitor economy, woodland management and local food production.

This is your opportunity to tell us your vision for Surrey's countryside and help us to determine the next steps needed to meet future challenges.

Speakers include:

  • Brian Wilson (Chairman, UK Rural Policy and Practitioners Group) – Change and Challenges in Rural England
  • Penny Power OBE (Entrepreneur and Author) – Digital Skills in the Rural Economy
  • Stephanie Fudge (Head of Site, RHS Wisley) – Visitor Centres as Economic Hubs
  • Tracy Carroll (Founder, Local Food Britain) – Food and Drink Collaboration
  • Alison Field (Area Director, Forestry Commission) – Woodland Opportunities in Surrey
